Redhawk Vineyard, first planted in 1979, is on a small southeast facing slope that is perfectly suited for growing richly flavored, spicy Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. These grapes, fermented in small lots, and given up to two years aging in French and American oak barrels, consistently make highly rated estate wines with a intensity not often found in Oregon wines. Redhawk is best known for cultish "Grateful Red", they also make small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay.
 

This young Pinot Gris saw enough skin contact to color it a pale copper. Made from estate-grown fruit, it has fresh and pretty cut pear flavors, buoyed with lemony acids. As a testament to its youth, a hint of yeasty bread comes through, also.
